Ariana Grande Is ‘So Happy’ People Are ‘Getting to Know’ Boyfriend Ethan Slater: ‘He’s Such an Amazing Person’

Ariana Grande is glad that the world is getting acquainted with her boyfriend Ethan Slater.

While speaking to Entertainment Tonight during the Los Angeles stop of the Wicked press tour on Saturday, Nov. 9, the pop star, 31, shared her excitement for fans of the film to get a chance to know her beau, 32. 

In a joint interview with her costar Cynthia Erivo, Grande told the outlet that the SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical alum is a perfect gentleman and always helping her out on the red carpet — even holding the trains to her flowing gowns. 

“It’s always that,” she said. “He’s always adorable, and he’s so amazing in this film, he’s such an amazing person, I’m so happy people are getting to know him. My heart is very happy.”

That same evening, ET also talked with Slater about what it’s been like working with Grande. 

“I am so proud of Ariana,” the actor, who plays Boq in the upcoming film, said. “She’s incredible in this movie, and then to be able to share in the celebration of it, I’m just grateful.”

In a recent interview with GQ published on Oct. 30, Slater opened up about the pair’s public relationship, admitting there is “something that was really difficult about things in your private life being commented on and looked at by the public.”

“Some of the hard parts that you’re talking about are the personal-life stuff that everybody in the world goes through,” he continued. “And so I am really focused on the real people in my life, who those things affect, and doing right by every real person and not the Twitter people who comment on it.”

Grande and Slater’s romance was confirmed in July 2023 after meeting on the set of Wicked.

This came after Grande separated from her ex-husband, Dalton Gomez, and Slater separated from his ex-wife, Lilly Jay. 

Grande and Slater are also joined by Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, Bowen Yang, Peter Dinklage and Michelle Yeoh in the Jon M. Chu-directed film.

Wicked will be released in two parts, with the first in theaters on Nov. 22, and the second slated for Nov. 26, 2025.
