Mariah Carey Jokes About Being ‘Tortured’ by ‘Hideous’ Overhead Lighting in Fun Clip: ‘Please Stop It!’
Mariah Carey is not a fan of overhead lighting!
Speaking in a clip from an upcoming episode on iHeart Radio’s Las Culturistas Podcast, the legendary singer, 55, explained her dislike for lighting that’s often found in public spaces.
“I can’t with the overhead lighting,” she said. “Why do they do it to us? I shouldn’t say us, it’s not us, it’s me.”
“I’m the one who’s the most tortured by the hideous lighting in elevators, doorway, gyms — not that I go to the gym, I’m just saying,” she added.
“It’s hideous lighting,” she continued. “The sun is okay if it’s sunset, I’ll gladly go outside and put a little hat on or whatever and that’ll be pretty because the sunlight caresses your skin.”
“It’s bad for you, so you have to be careful,” Carey added. “But overhead lighting I don’t think so honey.”
“Please stop it! Everywhere I go, shut the lights!” she added. “I don’t want to see them no more. Overhead lighting, it makes me sick!”
The “Fantasy” singer is set to appear on Las Culturistas Podcast, in an episode released on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Her words come after she told fans it wasn’t time for “All I Want for Christmas” season to begin just yet.
On Oct. 2 Carey shared a video of herself sitting in her private jet under a blanket as the jingle for her 1994 hit started playing. In the clip, the pilot can be heard saying, “This is your captain speaking. Welcome aboard Mariah — we are headed to the North Pole.”
The star then sang back, “Not yet, sorry.”
“They always rush me,” she jokingly added.
