Nicole Kidman Just Showcased the Stylish New Way to Wear Wide-Leg Bottoms — and They’re Helpful for Hot Flashes

I’m sad that my summer shorts are, officially, well beyond the point of wear. But on The Upside, it’s now my favorite season for fashion, sappy movies and shows, and even a little bit of both. 

Needless to say, things are exceptionally better when Nicole Kidman has a hand in both, so I’m already penciling in a solo date to watch Just Go with It and try on the beneficial bottoms she just had on: On October 5, the actress was spotted in New York City wearing a pair of split-hem wide-leg trousers, which, for me, were a major green flag. 

As someone who can’t handle claustrophobic and constraining clothing, the little slits would allow a tiny section of air to pass through, so there’s cool air to combat hot flashes and more room to move freely. Also, any pair of shoes will be more visible — if I buy new fall boots, I don’t want them to be hidden away by long pants. 

And according to other A-Listers, her black turtleneck and comfy loafers weren’t too shabby either. Her Big Little Lies co-star also just wore the same top style, and Jennifer Garner, Katie Holmes, and more have, at one point, all switched over to the preppy flats.

Bmjl Pleated Wide-Leg Pants

I used to have a pair of jeans with similar slits, and they were one of the most complimented items of clothing I’ve ever owned. This Amazon pair doesn’t have too many ratings, but it does look like the quintessential wide-leg styles that are trumping over others, and for that, I’m impressed. The front seam is also a big thing I’ve been seeing for fall. 

T Tahari Turtleneck Sweater

Because I would likely still wear a blazer or some sort of outerwear over a turtleneck, I don’t want to spend much on one. This one caught my eye because it’s marked down to just $20. That’s also the same price as this one from Amazon which was “thicker”  than one shopper expected, “but in a good way.” TL;DR: I feel good about both of these options. 

Franco Sarto Alora Penny Loafer 

Katie Holmes recently repped a pair of Franco Sarto Mary Janes, and I personally have experience with shoes from the brand. I’ve found that they’re always sound quality, and I’d venture that these are, too. I’m also a sucker for anything shiny, so I can’t help my infatuation with the sleek finish on these.
