Cardi B Reveals the Way She ‘Automatically’ Knew She Was Pregnant with Baby No. 3

Cardi B is sharing new details about her pregnancy with baby No. 3.

In an Instagram Live from over the weekend, recorded by a fan and shared on X, the rapper, 31, details how she “automatically” knew she was pregnant again. Cardi is also mom to daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 3, whom she shares with estranged husband Offset.

“It was around March 20 or March 16…it was around those days, right? I woke up one morning and my mouth tasted like copper. It literally tasted like copper. So I was like, ‘Oh my gosh. This only happened to me when I’m pregnant,” Cardi remembers. “So I was like, damn. I automatically knew that I was pregnant.”

The mom of three says that she thought about the timeline and decided she must be either six or seven weeks pregnant. When she got to New York, Cardi says she went to her OBGYN, who told her that she was actually much further along.

“She was like, ‘You’re not like seven weeks pregnant or six weeks pregnant. You’re like 17 weeks pregnant.’ And I’m like, ‘What?’ ” Cardi remembers. “I was like, No f—– way, I only had sex one time this year.”

But when she looked at the sonogram of her baby, Cardi says she got emotional and realized that she was going to be a mom again.

“When I look [at the sonogram], it was a whole baby. It’s not like a little bean, type of s—. It was a big ass baby,” she says. “But I ain’t gonna lie to you, when I saw that sonogram and I saw that it’s like a full baby, I saw 10 toes and 10 fingers, I got real, real, real, real emotional right away.”

“And then I was like, ‘What is it? What is it?’ And my OBGYN is like, ‘It’s a girl.’ And when I found out it was a girl, I started crying even more because y’all know that I love raising girls,” she adds.

Earlier this month, Cardi welcomed her third baby on Sept. 7, sharing the exciting news with an Instagram carousel. The proud mom could be seen smiling with her baby in her arms in a hospital bed while wearing a colorful robe.

In more photos and videos, Cardi’s estranged husband Offset, from whom she filed for divorce in July, can be seen cradling the baby. “The prettiest lil thing 🌸🌸 9/7/24 💖💖💖,” Cardi wrote in her caption.

In the post, the proud parents could be seen sitting with both kids in the hospital room as they met their new baby sister. Kulture even held her little one in her arms, while Cardi lovingly gazed at her two girls.
