Brad Pitt and Courteney Cox Reunite Nearly 23 Years After His Friends Appearance
Courteney Cox and Brad Pitt had a Friends reunion!
Nearly 23 years after Pitt, 60, made a guest appearance on the hit NBC sitcom opposite then-wife Jennifer Aniston, he and Cox came together at a Rock4EB fundraising event on Saturday, Sept. 21, in Malibu, Calif.
Pitt and Cox, 60, posed together for a photo at the star-studded gathering, which also included Pitt’s girlfriend Ines de Ramon plus singer Pink, actress Kaley Cuoco and more.
Hosted by Judd Apatow, Rock4EB began at 4 p.m. local time at a private residence, and the itinerary included a performance from Pink, 45, and Dallas Green, plus dinner and cocktails and a silent auction, per details on the Rock4EB website.
The event, which began in 2013, raises funds for research and to find a cure for the rare skin condition epidermolysis bullosa.
Pitt guest starred on an episode of Friends during the show’s eighth season in November 2001, titled “The One with the Rumor.” His character Will Colbert was part of an “I Hate Rachel” club in high school alongside Ross Geller, who was played by David Schwimmer.
At the time the episode was filmed, Pitt was married to Aniston, 55, who played Rachel Green. The duo was married for five years before their divorce in 2005, but have remained on amicable terms.
While speaking with Access alongside Cox and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay) in promotion of their HBO Max reunion special, Aniston and her costars were asked to list some of their favorite guest stars who appeared on the hit sitcom series throughout the years.
After reminiscing about working with actors such as Ben Stiller, Reese Witherspoon and Paul Rudd, among many others, Aniston then mentioned her ex-husband.
“Mr. Pitt was wonderful,” she recalled, as Kudrow, 61, chimed in, “He was fantastic” and Cox nodded her head in agreement.
During the Rock4EB event, Cox spoke with PEOPLE about Friends‘ 30th anniversary — and the last time she watched an episode.
“It’s just insane to me because it feels like time, it goes so fast and I don’t realize it,” she said when asked about the show’s milestone, which was Sunday. “We used to say, ‘Oh, I can’t wait for this month’ or ‘God, it feels like forever.’ I would never say that line anymore.”
Reflecting on how her character Monica Geller lives on in pop culture and remains one of her most defining roles, Cox jokingly declared, “Monica is alive and well. Are you kidding?”
Despite having fond memories of the series, the actress told PEOPLE she hasn’t seen an episode of the series “in a little while, but whenever I do come across it, I can’t help but [watch].”
She added, “That show is incredible. Every joke holds up, all the characters are just so amazing, and we [had] the best writers in the world. I’m lucky that it continues on through all the generations. And that’s very fortunate.”
