Danny Amendola and Xandra Pohl’s Relationship: All About the Football Star’s Rumored Girlfriend

Danny Amendola is keeping his love life private — but his rumored girlfriend, Xandra Pohl, is still ready to publicly support him.

The 38-year-old former NFL wide receiver joined season 33 of Dancing with the Stars in September 2024 after retiring from football two years earlier. Supporting him in the crowd was Pohl, the 23-year-old DJ and TikTok star.

Though the two have yet to address the status of their relationship, rumors have been buzzing since June 2024 when they were spotted together at Tom Brady’s Hall of Fame induction for the New England Patriots.

Amendola previously dated model Olivia Culpo on and off for three years between 2016 and 2019, while Pohl gained popularity on TikTok after opening up about her breakup with her longtime boyfriend in college.

Pohl gained fame making TikToks, many with Alix Earle

Pohl first became famous while she was still in college at the University of Miami, making TikToks alongside Alix Earle. The two went viral for a September 2022 TikTok in which they both dressed up in UMiami gear as they got ready to go to a football game. From there, Pohl’s account blew up, and she quickly gained fame.

In early 2023, she made content surrounding her breakup with her ex-boyfriend, bringing even more eyes to her profile. By the end of her senior year, Pohl admitted that she wasn’t going to classes that much but was focused on working — doing brand trips and podcast appearances, she said on the Chicks in the Office podcast in May 2023. She now has over 1 million followers on TikTok.

Pohl is a DJ and model

Pohl always intended to turn her content creation career into helping her DJ business. She shared on the Chicks in the Office podcast that she’d been DJing since she was a junior in high school, and she started taking TikTok seriously because she wanted to grow her brand’s following.

“For DJing and stuff, it’s all about marketing,” she said. “The more following you have, the easier it is to get gigs.”

In an August 2023 TikTok, Pohl further explained that she was inspired to become a DJ after she went to Chicago’s Lollapalooza music festival when she was 16. When she came home to Cincinnati, Ohio, she told her mom she wanted to be a DJ, and the next day, she bought herself a set.

She played her first club in Miami at 18 years old, despite security and other people running the event doubting her ability. By the summer of 2023, Pohl was a successful DJ, working at Ushuaïa in Ibiza, a famous nightclub.

Now, Pohl has released her first single and is on tour in the fall of 2024. She is also a model, and in April, she was named one of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit‘s 2024 Rookies.

Amendola previously dated Olivia Culpo

Amendola has had a number of relationships before Pohl. He started dating Culpo, who is now married to San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffery, in 2016 before breaking up two years later in March 2018. They got back together in June, took a break in October 2018 and were dating again in January 2019 before ultimately calling it quits three months later.

After Amendola and Pohl were spotted at Brady’s induction ceremony, Barstool founder Dave Portnoy added fuel to the rumors they were dating on a June 2024 episode of the BFFs podcast.

“So Xandra is dating Danny Amendola,” Portnoy said. “I don’t know if dating is the right word. Well, I was there. They’re together. Yeah, we saw it in action.”

He then said he’d “rephrase” and that he didn’t know what was going on with the rumored couple, but Pohl was definitely Amendola’s date.

“Although that’s like in your face dating… She was sitting with [Rob] Gronkowski and [his girlfriend] Camille [Kostek],” he said.

The former New England Patriots wide receiver has spoken out about wanting to keep his relationship private, especially after feeling that his relationship with Culpo was too much in the public eye.

“I believe there should be a boundary btw private life and social media,” Amendola wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post in 2019.

“If you’re my real friend you know I’m private. My mother, brother, father and nephew are closest to me in this world and you don’t see one picture of them and that’s for their protection from those who criticize and judge,” he said. “I believe in nailing picture frames on the inside of my house to remind the ones I love that I care.”
