The Real World‘s KellyAnne Judd married her partner of six years in the coastal wedding of her dreams!

The reality star, 38, and Max Alpert, tied the knot in front of 140 guests at The Holly Farm in Carmel-by-the-Sea, Calif. on Sept. 14.

At the altar, the bride and groom were accompanied by their dogs after Judd walked down the aisle with her dad and her pup, Hayven. “The first two men I ever loved,” she tells PEOPLE.

When searching for the perfect venue, the bride says a dog-friendly environment topped her list of priorities. Judd and Alpert also wanted to exchange vows at a location that allowed “all types of people to get married,” and they kept their guests’ experiences at the top of their minds. Carmel-by-the-Sea checked every box.

“A lot of what I said for the venue; a good bar, good food, late night! And easy to get back to your room when you want the party to end,” she says.

Judd adds that she feels a special connection to the beach town on the Monterey Peninsula.

“I’ve explored every corner of California — road-tripping from top to bottom and east to west. As residents of this beautiful state, we have a deep appreciation for its landscapes, but this area, especially Carmel, has always pulled at my heartstrings,” she says, adding that if they didn’t land on the idyllic West Coast spot, the pair “might have considered an international destination, like Greece.”

Their chosen location met all of the bride and groom’s needs, and with its “outdoor setting and a farm-to-table dining experience,” Judd says The Holly Farm added “a delightful blend of fairytale charm and earthy elegance.”

“We’re embracing a beautiful mix of lighter neutrals, blush, and lavender, accented by deep blues. The lush greenery at Holly Farm will serve as a stunning backdrop,” Judd told PEOPLE ahead of the nuptials. “Since our wedding is taking place during the last week of summer—when Carmel enjoys some of its warmest weather, with daytime highs in the mid-70s and cooler evenings in the 50s—I wanted to blend the bright, sunny California vibe with the elegance that the cooler seasons bring.”

The romantic atmosphere was heightened when the bride and groom read vows they wrote by themselves, and their dreamy ceremony was soundtracked by live trio band The Montage playing classical music. Kate Healey from Big Sur Flowers created all the florals.

Judd’s close friend, Tamrah, officiated the wedding, which added a full circle effect since The Challenge contestant met her husband at one of Tamrah’s birthday parties in Aspen.

“We were both friends with the same circle for years, but never met or heard of each other, it was very serendipitous as neither of us had planned on going,” Judd tells PEOPLE, remembering the event where she and Alpert first connected.

“Day two of the trip, Aspen got a lot of snow and we could not get a ride to go skiing for the first part of the day,” she continues. “So I grabbed a whisky and some coffee and asked if Max wanted to play in the snow. He said yes, and after about an hour of us acting like children, jumping around in the snow, he kissed me. And then we just couldn’t stop. By the end of the night, we were in love.”

Judd says she was filming The Challenge: All Stars when Alpert picked out a ring and planned his proposal. They traveled to Paris for a vacation filled with “sightseeing, Michelin-star restaurants and spas.” Alpert popped the question in front of the Eiffel Tower.

“He actually brought a napkin from the hotel because it was a little muddy outside, and he put it down so he could get on one knee and still be able to go out with me afterwards to celebrate,” she adds. “My heart still flutters when I think about it … I might add he did very nicely on the ring. I’m so glad I didn’t have to make that decision.”

Judd walked down the aisle in a lace-embellished gown from Galiah Lahav’s bridal couture collection with a long, double-layered veil. Allison Drake and Remington Elder from Kiss Studio styled her hair and make up.

“Choosing the dress was actually so difficult for me! I was going back-and-forth between these two different dresses, both the same designer,” Judd recalls to PEOPLE. “I chose this dress because of the venue being fully outside. It seemed more fitting and romantic to the scenery.”

Before she and Alpert cut their wedding cake, the bride changed into a second dress custom made for her by local designer Simin. In the satin ensemble, Judd and her new spouse sliced into an organic, gluten-free vanilla cake with buttercream and strawberry icing between layers. The baker, wedding cake specialist Edith Meyer, makes her icing “with the fresh berries she picks in her yard,” says the bride.

During the reception guests dined on mango and avocado ceviche, antipasto, poached pear salad, grilled sirloin, chicken piccata, butternut squash ravioli, salmon, buttermilk mashed potatoes, and roasted vegetables.

With all the details, Judd says the wedding planning process was “so much fun,” but it was also “very stressful” as she was also filming two different TV shows while mapping out her nuptials.

“Marriage was something that really always scared me. I was never someone growing up that was excited about it. Maybe it was because women were once considered property, or just because I didn’t want to lose myself in another person,” she tells PEOPLE. “But after being with Max now for six years, I have learned what a good partnership feels like and I am really excited to take this next step.”

After their “mini honeymoon” in Big Sur, Calif., Judd is excited to step into the next chapter of her life. She’s considering returning to school to continue her education in “holistic healthcare and nutrition,” and she’s keen to start building a family.

“I am hopeful that we will have kids, and we would really like to buy a home with some land so that I can help rescue animals in a larger capacity and have our kids be apart of that,” the TV competitor says, looking ahead towards her future with Alpert.

“Max says that he loves that I challenge him and I encourage him to think deeply and to question things,” Judd adds. “I love the way he looks at me and how we continue to grow together. We’ve faced many challenges along the way, but we never gave up, even when it would have been easier to do so.”
